(The Berlin Wall)

The Berlin Wall, (Berliner Mauer), was the barrier that surrounded West Berlin and prevented access to it from East Berlin and adjacent areas of East Germany during the period from 1961 to 1989.   The Berlin Wall came to symbolize the Cold War’s division of East from West Germany and of eastern from western Europe

Part III:  Graffiti
The west side of the Berlin Wall was a perfect place for people to express their opinions, especially on their preferences and dislikes about political issues.  Graffitiing on the wall became popular for artists from all over the world and a place where tourists would go and admire the artwork.
